Mistaken Occupation

My 95-year-old mother moved into an assisted living apartment last autumn and in a recent telephone conversation she told me this:

There was a different receptionist at the front desk so I asked her if she was a substitute.  The receptionist replied that yes she was. Then I said, "I'm a substitute too. A substitute prostitute who's destitute in the institute."

What a silly mother I have.
