Don't be sorry. I think it is great that you comment. I have been using pink in my work for a contest whose theme is pink. My personal tastes tend to more neutrals or earth colors but I do try to force myself to go brighter and to use colors that are different.
The gradients I used were mainly in the pink range but one had some gold and when the layers merged with the black background they deepened and some became a bit more reddish. But as you said, they're all in the same family and the bubbles are the focal point.
Thanks, Kat. I had the hardest time coming up with something besides the "gems" but I couldn't leave them floating around in a black void and I've been seeing a lot of "Barnsleys" so I gave it a shot. It made me think of a mine shaft.
